Twitpic of Andrew Grande smoking marijuana, according to his own caption.
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (CBS/AP) In a disturbance call that went terribly wrong, gay porn star Andrew Grande lost his life for a bag of marijuana. And it was all caught on tape.
A camera crew from Zoo Productions, working for truTV, was on a ride-along with Panama Beach police when they responded to a physical disturbance call at the Executive Inn on Front Beach Road Friday Dec. 11.
When investigators arrived, 22-year-old Crystal Amber Cronnon told them that Grande, who used the stage name Dustin Michaels, had attacked her, according to the News Herald.

Police say they tried to arrest Grande but he resisted and during the struggle he put something in his mouth and attempted to swallow it. Officers yelled at him to spit it out. One of them shouted, “He’s choking,” according to the paper.
In the chaos, Grande briefly broke free of the officers and was tasered. He pulled the Taser prongs out of his body, fell to the ground, and put his hand in his mouth trying to vomit, the paper reported.
Officers attempted to do the Heimlich but couldn’t dislodge the object.
Responding paramedics were able to pull the bag of marijuana from his throat and transport him to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Councilman David Catania speaks to the media before introducing the same-sex marriage bill at a D.C. Council meeting in October.
Gay rights advocates are declaring a cautious victory in the nation’s capital this week.
A bill legalizing same-sex marriage in Washington, D.C., is expected to pass a City Council vote on Tuesday.
David Catania, the openly gay councilman who drafted the bill, says he has been waiting for this day for a long time.
“After a year of planning and working and strategizing and organizing and cajoling and discussing it, I can finally see that the end is in sight,” Catania says.
The mayor has already committed to signing the bill, but opponents are vowing not to give up the fight against it. And because laws in the District of Columbia are subject to congressional review, even if the bill passes on Tuesday, it won’t be too late for opponents to lobby for it to be overturned.

John Pérez will assume Assembly leadership early next year.
Assemblyman John Pérez, an openly gay Latino Democrat from Los Angeles, made history Thursday when he was unanimously chosen by the Assembly’s Democratic Caucus to succeed Karen Bass as the lower house’s leader.
Pérez, a freshman lawmaker who is expected to be formally voted in as the 68th Assembly speaker in January, will become the body’s first openly gay leader. The Los Angeles-raised UC Berkeley graduate will inherit a mountain of challenges, in particular the state’s staggering projected $20.7 billion deficit through June 2011.
“It’s obviously an incredibly moving experience to have the unanimous support of my colleagues,” Pérez, 40, said shortly after the caucus vote. “I think it says more about California than it does about me – it means that California is a place where everybody has a seat at the table, that we’re a state where everybody brings forward their contributions.”
Advocates for the gay community immediately praised Pérez’s election, calling it a historic moment for not just the state but for the nation.
“It’s very, very poignant,” said Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, D-San Francisco, who is also gay. “I was a personal friend of (slain San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk) and to live long enough to see this is very significant. … Like Milk said, you have to give them hope, and I think what happened today is going to give people hope.”
